JM and Marizel Mercado founded Korusleine Vocal Ensemble in 2004, the singing group that garnered several recognition awards including "Bay Area's Premiere Vocal Ensemble." Since then, they have been performing in various community events, concerts and fundraisers: Gawad Kalinga, Pistahan, Fiesta Filipina (San Francisco and Las Vegas), Cecille Azarcon Concert, Jasmine Trias Concert, The Warriors Games to name a few.
This husband and wife tandem together with their 2 children (Christian, 15 and Jerald 5) decided to move to Katy, Texas for good on May 2010. They found a second home serving the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Katy TX by leading the Contemporary Choir during mass at 5:30pm on Sundays. JM is now the new Coordinator of Music of the parish and the Director of Orchestra. Their relocation did not stop them from serving God and His community, instead, they continue to touch people's lives through their talents and passion for music.
